There is a default setup for Dashboard, so new users would already have some widgets when they first log in and are taken to their Dashboard.

The setup consists of 2 tabs, first has 5 predefined widgets in it and the second one is empty - ready for the users to start adding widgets themselves. The first tab is named "OEE & Downtime" and it has the following five widgets:

  • OEE overview widget (last 7 days, all stations)
  • OEE overview widget (last 30 days, all stations)
  • Production data widget with OEE as indicator (last 30 days, all stations, comparison and trendline enabled, no target set)
  • Downtime widget (last 7 days, all stations, all stops, showing top 10, show change enabled)
  • Downtime widget (last 30 days, all stations, all stops, show top 10, show change enabled)

There is no limit for the number of widgets you can add to a tab, and also no limit on the number of tabs.

How to add new widgets?

  1. Click "Add widget".

  3. Select the details for the widget

    • OEE overview:
      • Name - change the default name to a custom one if needed.
        • Even if the name is left as the default, it is saved in the currently chosen language and is not translated when the user changes system language.
      • Time period to include
      • Stations to include - it is possible to filter by factory as well as by station group and then select the stations. It is also possible to use the "Select all" option to include all factories and/or stations.
      • Target (optional)
      • Note! The Total of OEE is calculated as weighted average, taking into account the planned production time.
    • Production data:
      • Indicator - which value is displayed on the widget

      • Name - change the default name to a custom one if needed.

      • Target (optional)

        • Target will be displayed as a solid line on the chart.
        • The results over and under the target are differentiated by coloring, using lighter and darker shades of the color used for the specific indicator.
      • Add trendline to chart - it is possible to add a trendline to the chart, it is enabled by default.

      • Compare with preceding period - when enabled, yellow lines indicate the values from last period. The values can be seen when hovering on the lines. Please find more info here.

      • Primary or alternative unit - in case you have alternative units defined (for at least one included product), there is also the option to select in which unit you wish to see the widget data for the good, total and scrap quantity indicators.

    • Downtime summary:
      • Name - change the default name to a custom one if needed.
        • Even if the name is left as the default, it is saved in the currently chosen language and is not translated when the user changes system language.

      • Set how many stop reasons are shown (1-10). The default value is 10.
      • Show change compared to preceding period - when enabled, the increase or decrease of each stop reason is indicated compared to preceding period. Please find more info here.
    • Speed loss:
      • Name - change the default name to a custom one if needed.
        • Even if the name is left as the default, it is saved in the currently chosen language and is not translated when the user changes system language.

      • Select whether you would like to see the reasons separately, by groups or by locations (if used).
      • Set how many speed loss reasons are shown (1-10). The default value is 10.
      • Show change compared to preceding period - when enabled, the increase or decrease of each speed loss reason is indicated compared to preceding period. Please find more info here.
    • Scrap reasons:
      • Name - change the default name to a custom one if needed.
        • Even if the name is left as the default, it is saved in the currently chosen language and is not translated when the user changes system language.
      • Time period to include

      • Select whether you would like to see the reasons separately or by groups
      • Set how many scrap reasons are shown (1-10). The default value is 10.
      • Show change compared to preceding period - when enabled, the increase or decrease of each scrap reason is indicated compared to preceding period. Please find more info here.
      • Primary or alternative unit - in case you have alternative units defined (for at least one included product), there is also the option to select in which unit you wish to see the widget data.
  4. Click "Save" to create the widget.

Note: Time period selection "Last 12 months" includes data of the last 12 months, starting from the beginning of the month until today. So if the widget is done on the 6th of October 2021, the data included is 01.10.2020 - 06.10.2021.

What are the time period options for Dashboard widgets?

  • Ongoing shift
    • Shows data only if there is an ongoing shift. Comparison shows data for the shift that was before the ongoing one. If there is no ongoing shift, we do not show comparison, we show empty state. Comparison is only active if there is data available.
      • In case of multi-station selections, we show aggregated data when the name matches.
      • If shift names do not match, then show data for the most recent shift that finished.
  • Previous shift
    • Shows data for the previous shift with data. If it's Monday day shift and the previous shift was Monday night shift, then we show data for that. If it's Monday and it's the first shift of the week, we show data for the previous shift with data (e.g. Friday night shift). Comparison shows data for the shift that was before the "previous shift".
      • In case of multi-station selections, we show aggregated data when the name matches.
      • If shift names do not match, then show data for the most recent shift that finished.
  • Today
  • Yesterday
  • Previous production day
    • Shows data for the previous production day (a day that had one or more shifts). If it's Monday and the last day with data was Friday, then it shows data for Friday. If it's Tuesday and the last day with production was Monday, then it shows data for Monday (works as yesterday). Comparison shows data for the day that was before the "previous production day".
  • Last 7 shifts
  • This week
  • Last week
  • Last 7 days
  • This month
  • Last month
  • Last 30 days
  • This year
  • Last year
  • Last 12 months
    • This option gives the data 11 months back, from the 1st of that month. And the last date is yesterday. So on 25.06.2024 this means the period is 01.07.2023-24.06.2024.
  • Custom
    • This option allows you to select a custom date range for the widget. After selecting the "custom" option, a new field appears from where you can select the start and end dates:

How is shift-based periods' data calculated and visualized in Dashboard?

To explain the logic of how the bars on the widget graphs for shift-based periods are calculated, please follow the example below. To simplify, let's take last 3 shifts (instead of 7 that we have as the "Last 7 shifts" option).

Let's say that we have three stations: Station1, Station2, Station3

And the last 3 shifts on each of the stations are as follows: Station1: May 13th "Day", May 14th "Day", May 15th "Day" Station2: May 12th "Night", May 13th "Day", May 15th "Night" Station3: May 10th "Day", May 14th "Day", May 15th "Day"

The last 3 shifts would then be: Station1 - May 15th "Day" Station3 - May 15th "Day" Station2 - May 15th "Night"

The graph will show 3 bars, but since Station1 and Station3 have the shift with the same date and name (May 15th "Day"), then these are added together and displayed as one bar. So the Station2 May 15th "Night" bar would be the second bar. Now, the third bar is created based on the shift(s) that come next on the timeline - based on this example this means combining Station1 May 14th "Day" and Station2 May 14th "Day", as they have the same date and name.

Now there are 3 bars. Comparison periods are as follows: The comparison period for the first bar would essentially be the bar that would be the 4th on the graph. That means: First bar: Station1 and Station3, May 15th "Day" Comparison period - Station1 and Station2, May 13th "Day"

Second bar: Station2, May 15th "Night" Comparison period - Station2, May 12th "Night"

Third bar: Station1 and Station3, May 14th "Day" Comparison period - Station3 May 10th "Day"

How does "comparison to the preceding period" work?

All widgets apart from OEE have the option to compare the data of the period to the preceding period:

For certain periods there is an additional option to compare the period to the matching preceding period (for example this year's Jan-April to last year's Jan-April) or to the whole period (this year's Jan-April to last year's Jan-Dec):
