Steps to follow in case the Evocon device is offline

How to check the lights, cabling and network of an offline Evocon device and what to send to Evocon support.

  1. Check the status of the Evocon device by looking at the green and yellow lights next to the Ethernet (network cable) connector. You can also see the status of the device from the system's point of view at https://app.evocon.com/#/settings/devices

    • If the green light is on or blinking, the device has power.
    • If the yellow light is blinking, the device has power and a physical connection to the next networking device.
    • If no lights are blinking, make sure the power adapter is plugged in and there is 24V DC voltage on the connector that connects to the device.
    • If only the green light is on or blinking, but the network cable is connected, then check the network cable or the next networking device.
  2. If the Evocon device is powered on and the network cable is connected, but the problem persists, then contact your local IT personnel. Provide them with the MAC address (can be found at https://app.evocon.com/#/settings/devices) and ask them to check if that device is:

    • Registered on the network and has an IP address from the DHCP server.
    • Active on the network (sending packets/receiving packets).
    • Not blocked by configuration, firewall or access control filter.
  3. Make sure that the firewall settings allow traffic from the device towards the Internet.

    • Serial number or MAC address of the device, or the name of the connected station/line.
    • Which actions have been taken so far and what the results were.
